Course Description

IADC Rig Pass is a safety orientation program designed for individuals who are new to the drilling industry. The course provides an overview of the drilling industry and covers the potential hazards encountered on a drilling rig. The goal of the program is to increase safety awareness and help prevent accidents on the rig.

The course covers various topics such as rig safety, hazard identification and control, environmental and regulatory issues, transportation and lifting, well control, and security. Participants will learn about the importance of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe work practices, hazard communication, emergency procedures, and fall protection. The course will also cover environmental regulations and standards, waste management, spill prevention and response, transportation safety, lifting equipment and procedures, and crane safety.

COURSE OBJECTIVE

By the end of the course, participants should have an understanding of the potential hazards encountered on a drilling rig and the best practices for mitigating these hazards.

Specific objectives of the course include:

• Introducing participants to the drilling industry and its various operations
• Developing a safety culture among participants and promoting safe work practices
• Familiarizing participants with personal protective equipment (PPE) and its use

• Equipping participants with knowledge of control measures for hazards and fall protection

• Teaching participants transportation safety, lifting equipment, and crane safety
• Providing an overview of well control equipment and procedures, blowout prevention, and well control drills
• Teaching participants about security threats and concerns and the measures and procedures to mitigate them
