Course Description

This course is designed to define the origins of reservoir engineering data and highlight the benefit of incorporating the engineering data into the reservoir management of mature area. Data acquisition and integration will be addressed, and the criteria for the effective operation of the mature reservoir will be stressed during its entire existence. The life cycle of the reservoir and the sequences of the recovery mechanisms for the output will also be addressed. This course will explain how the integrated and sound reservoir management is the key to executing an effective development plan and a successful operation over the life of the reservoir. It will also include the guidelines for reservoir management and improve the recovery from the existing oil & gas-in-place reservoir. Efficient implementations of these principles for reservoir management can lead to high recovery factors.

Course Objectives:

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Employ correct reservoir development and management approaches
• Familiarize themselves with the correct method of data collection, analysis, testing and incorporation
• Demonstrate the points of convergence between the different disciplines (geoscience, engineering, etc.) during reservoir management principles and software applications
• Ensure the reservoir management process is conducted properly.
• Use the Interdisciplinary Synergistic approach for effective control of reservoirs
