Course Description

The program is developed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to carry out risk assessments in the workplace.

This course covers the five steps of risk assessment, including hazard identification, risk evaluation, risk control measures, review and monitoring, and communication of risk assessment findings. Learners will learn how to plan and conduct a risk assessment, how to identify hazards and evaluate risks, and how to implement controls to reduce risk.

Course Objectives: By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Identify the legal requirements of risk assessment: participants will understand the legal requirements for carrying out risk assessments in the workplace, including the importance of conducting risk assessments to identify and manage hazards.
• Implement controls to reduce risk: participants will learn how to implement appropriate controls to reduce the risks associated with identified hazards, including the selection and implementation of appropriate control measures.
• Identify hazards and assess risks: participants will be able to identify hazards in the workplace and assess the risks associated with those hazards using appropriate risk assessment techniques.
• Communicate risk assessment findings to relevant stakeholders: participants will be able to communicate their risk assessment findings to relevant stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, including how to report on the risk assessment process and outcomes.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of risk controls: participants will be able to evaluate the effectiveness of risk controls to determine whether they are working as intended and whether any additional measures are required.
