Reservoir Characterization

Course Description

The participants will be able to analyze all types of data involved by selecting this training course; good or poor, important or less important, rate various interpretations, eliminate all potential scenarios and infer the best scenario to work with. Participants should be able to deal with: variable rock form, petrophysical parameters involved, multiple diagenesis, analysis of the key faces concerned (barriers or reservoirs), interpretation of records, charts, correlations and distribution of data, considering their separate working sectors.

Course Objectives:

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Evaluate parameters of the rocks involved in characterizing the reservoir
  • Integrate all available data for determining geometry of the reservoir
  • Distribute physical parameters in a reservoir, and flow properties
  • Create geological models helping to identify heterogeneities and uncertainties in the reservoir
  • Assist with optimal positions in geo-steering wells, and provide simulation data to reservoir

Who should attend?

  • Strategic engineers
  • Petro physicists
  • Managers
  • Geologists
  • Geo-modeler
  • Reservoir Engineers
  • Geophysicists

Delivery Method: Lectures, discussions, syndicate work, case studies, role – play and group exercises. Audio – Visual aids will be used to reinforce these training and learning methods.
