Rationale:

An organization that is geared to continually deliver increasing performance of all its factors is an organization that is primed for continuous effectiveness. Since Organizations are set specifically with certain pre-determined objectives, all its activities and operations ought to be directed at their attainment. It is in this attainment that organizational success and survival is defined. An effective organization is therefore an organization that is continually generating improved performance of all the elements that are both endogenous and exogenous to it. These are all the factors that are available to the organization for the fulfilment of its operational objectives.  Its ability to master, harness and deploy its dynamics towards the organizational vision shapes overall organizational outcome thus future.

Trade Unions and its leadership play key roles in ensuring that organizational performance is continually improving thus enhancing the effectiveness of the organizations concerned. With the right kind of leadership, trade unions become critical agents to organizational effectiveness and success. This is a function of the fact that trade unions are in control of the workforce which is critical to organizational performance. If the workforce is therefore led creatively with a high-performance attitude, the organization becomes more effective with increasing productivity that guarantees continuous organizational success.

Leadership experience is a path which is filled with visions, missions, objectives and how to mobilize and deploy the various resources immediately and remotely available to the leader towards accomplishing several tasks which translates into the attainment of the whole aims and objectives of the organization.

Trade unions especially its leadership must therefore understand the criticality of its place in the nexus of increasing workplace productivity or Performance, workplace effectiveness and workplace bottom-line; a plank upon which its sustainability is built.
